The Isaiah Balat Foundation (IBF) is a non-governmental organization that was founded by the late Senator Isaiah Balat in 2005. He founded the organization with the initial goal of vaccinating over a million people across Kaduna State against meningitis. IBF was officially established in 2010 principally to drive programs in the health, education, and agriculture sectors. In 2015, Sports for Development programs were added due to their impact on social inclusion, local economic development, and health. Since 2016, the organization has streamlined efforts towards the growing humanitarian crisis in northeastern states affected by the Boko Haram insurgency. All programs have been developed to empower women, youth, discriminated persons, and other members of the society that are underprivileged, vulnerable, or are afflicted with any form of disability. The IBF initiative aims to provide an interventionist platform that will promote the rights and privileges of target groups regardless of ethnicity or religion and also work towards uplifting their socio-economic wellbeing.
